There’s no Time for Fiction

It’s not criticism.

It is likely only an observation.

It’s important nonetheless, I’m fairly certain.

But there isn’t; there’s no time for fiction. Not if you’re paying attention.

The world is a large place. There’s a lot going on. A lot of stories remain untold. New ones are added every day. If the world can only know what it’s exposed to, then it can be argued it’s important that it be written down. Then you arrive at a distribution problem, but that’s for another write up.

Not that there isn’t a place for fiction. Just make sure it’s only a delivery mechanism to represent the message you’re attempting to carry. One which is based in reality. Something that can liberate a populace or their minds. If you don’t have one you’re going to have to find it. Otherwise you’re now writing pure fiction, where everything is made up, and in the modern era that’s truly frivolous; given the volume of things we as a race, the human race, simply don’t know yet.
