Understanding the World we live in
The earth isn’t 75% water. It’s all rock. 75% of its surface area is covered in water. And it’s really not that deep. It is deep because of our incapacity to manipulate large volumes of water effectively. Besides, a brick could kill us. A large volume of water is pretty insurmountable for us. Let’s take an average size asteroid, say 10 miles across, that’s plummeting to earth and is going to crash into the ocean. The deepest part of the ocean is 7 miles. That’s it. If the asteroid hit there, three miles of the asteroid are going to be sticking out of the ocean.
